Dr Qiuji Yi is an Assistant Professor at Northumbria University, United Kingdom. His work focuses on sensing and non-destructive evaluation for engineering systems, combining advanced signal processing with data-driven modelling and experimental validation. Within this project, he leads the UK team and oversees the overall research direction, methodology development, and coordination with the Brazil partner.
Prof. Cesar Camerini is the Brazil Principal Investigator and an experienced researcher in non-destructive testing and industrial inspection. His work combines experimental NDT, sensing, and instrumentation, with particular emphasis on eddy-current methods, thermography, inspection-system development, and validation under practical engineering conditions. In this collaboration, he leads Brazil-side experimental activities and contributes to thermographic inspection, experimental design, platform implementation, and cross-validation of modelling and measured data for wind turbine blade applications.
Prof. Gui Yun Tian is a Distinguished Professor at Chongqing University of Technology, China, and an internationally recognised expert in electromagnetic non-destructive testing and sensing systems. His work has made long-standing contributions to pulsed eddy current methods, eddy current pulsed thermography, and related multi-physics inspection technologies, spanning modelling, sensor and array design, and experimental validation. In this project, he contributes as a senior collaborator, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise in advanced sensing and NDT methodologies, and supporting experimental validation and interpretation across partners.
Prof. Paul Wilcox is Professor of Dynamics in the School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol. His research spans non-destructive evaluation and quantitative structural health monitoring, with particular expertise in ultrasonic inspection and sensing technologies. He previously served as Academic Director of the UK Research Centre for Non-Destructive Evaluation and is a co-founder of Inductosense Ltd. In the ICA Enhancement Funding project, he will act as a senior academic mentor, advising on composite non-destructive testing, data-driven evaluation, inverse problem methodology, and total focusing method imaging. He will also support the Bristol-hosted secondment and independent cross-modality validation.
Dr Jingyuan Yang is a Research Associate at Northumbria University. He received a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, with research centred on electromagnetic non-destructive testing for infrastructure and engineering components. His current work emphasises multi-physics modelling and experimental implementation, including COMSOL-based simulation, MATLAB data analysis, and the development of practical inspection workflows. In this project, he supports numerical modelling, experimental execution, and data interpretation, bridging simulation and measurements across both partners.
