Qiuji Yi

Assistant Professor (UK Principal Investigator) · Northumbria University

Dr Qiuji Yi is an Assistant Professor at Northumbria University, United Kingdom. His work focuses on sensing and non-destructive evaluation for engineering systems, combining advanced signal processing with data-driven modelling and experimental validation. Within this project, he leads the UK team and oversees the overall research direction, methodology development, and coordination with the Brazil partner.

Cesar Camerini

Professor (Brazil Principal Investigator)

Prof. Cesar Camerini is the Brazil Principal Investigator and leads the experimental activities on the Brazil side. His research profile is strongly practice-oriented, with extensive experience in laboratory implementation, instrumentation, and the delivery of experimentally validated engineering solutions. In this collaboration, he contributes to experimental design, platform setup, and cross-validation between modelling and measured data.

Guiyun Tian

Professor · Collaborator · Chongqing University of Technology

Prof. Gui Yun Tian is a Distinguished Professor at Chongqing University of Technology, China, and an internationally recognised expert in electromagnetic non-destructive testing and sensing systems. His work has made long-standing contributions to pulsed eddy current methods, eddy current pulsed thermography, and related multi-physics inspection technologies, spanning modelling, sensor and array design, and experimental validation. In this project, he contributes as a senior collaborator, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise in advanced sensing and NDT methodologies, and supporting experimental validation and interpretation across partners.

Paul Wilcox

Professor · Collaborator for second project · University of Bristol

Prof. Paul Wilcox is Professor of Dynamics in the School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol. His research spans non-destructive evaluation and quantitative structural health monitoring, with particular expertise in ultrasonic inspection and sensing technologies. He previously served as Academic Director of the UK Research Centre for Non-Destructive Evaluation and is a co-founder of Inductosense Ltd. In this collaboration, he contributes senior expertise in inspection science, structural health monitoring, and the translation of sensing technologies to industrial applications.

Jingyuan Yang

Research Associate · Northumbria University

Dr Jingyuan Yang is a Research Associate at Northumbria University. He received a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, with research centred on electromagnetic non-destructive testing for infrastructure and engineering components. His current work emphasises multi-physics modelling and experimental implementation, including COMSOL-based simulation, MATLAB data analysis, and the development of practical inspection workflows. In this project, he supports numerical modelling, experimental execution, and data interpretation, bridging simulation and measurements across both partners.

Jéssica Mafra

Jéssica Mafra has a background in Physics, holding both B.S. and M.S. degrees from UFRJ. She is currently working on the active thermography project at LNDC. With experience in data analysis, she contributes to this project by applying her expertise to support effective research and collaboration.
